Hi friends. My name is Cary Hays, and I am one of the founders of Amazing Adventure Hunts, along with my beautiful wife, Renee. We have called downtown Sanford our home since 1998. We love bringing people here to show off our lovely town. So what is the origin story of Amazing Adventure Hunts? The inspiration actually came from events called "road rallyes". Teams in different vehicles would receive a set of written instructions on where to go throughout the city, with accompanying questions that were clever and required a sharp eye and mind. The rallyes were timed, and each incorrect answer added time to your score. The goal was to finish the instructions (the route) as quickly as possible, with as many correct answer as possible. The first road rallye that we participated in was for my Uncle Gene's 50th birthday party. We were instantly hooked, and over the years wrote and hosted several of our own. When our kids were young teens, we thought it would be a great idea to have something similar for their birthdays. Since they weren't old enough to drive, a walking tour, featuring clever clues, puzzles, and fun questions, was the solution. After hosting several of these, we received many comments about how this should be a business...and so we created Amazing Adventure Hunts. Since 2022, we have hosted hundreds of "hunters" on our fun experiences. We love meeting people and seeing the joy on their faces as they "cross the finish line".
